Vision
To provide the best service to my clients and be a resource for their personal financial life.
Goal #1
Decide on my long term career path.
Why is this important?
I want to know where I'm going. I want to keep learning and growing. I don't want to wake up years from now and wonder what could have been.
Time frame
By year end
Progress:
My company is currently going through an acquisition. I'm not sure how this will impact my career. Will there be educational opportunities to make myself more valuable to my clients? Will my position stay in tact? What is like to work for the new company. With all of this uncertainty, I need to prepare for anything. That may include a new direction.
Someone asked me the other day what do I want to be doing in ten years. I told him, In regards to my career, I'm not sure. I love what I do and I could see doing it for a long time. Maybe that is my answer. I also told him that I could see being a product developer that leases my products to companies that will take them to market.
Goal #2
Read Private Wealth Management
Why is this important?
This book will further my education and knowledge of wealth management. As a result, I will better be able to serve my clients.
Time frame
Focus on one chapter per week
Complete book by year end
Progress
Goal #3
Achieve my deposit, lending, and investment goals
Why is this important?
This is what is required from me. It is also how I can increase my income which means we can achieve other goals faster.
Time frame
By year end
Progress (For confidentially, I will purposely be very vague in describing my progress) as of 08/31
Deposits: As of July, my goal was achieved
Loans: For the last three years I have not come even remotely close to booking as much as I hoped.
Investment revenue: 2012 has been my best year yet in this category. I am on target to exceed my goal.
Goal #4
Meeting by myself to review my book of business, look for new opportunities, and ways to increase efficiency.
Why is this important?
It's important to get away from the distractions of my office in order to focus on the big picture. This meeting allows me to think about efficiencies and to plan out my next week - begin with the end in mind.
Time frame
Every Friday
Progress
I have met every Friday thus far this year.
